Next Public Hearing - Monday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m.

The public hearing for the Annexation Agreement for the Northeast corner of Orchard and Oak will be on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall (25 E. State St.).

This is your opportunity to comment or voice any concerns over the proposed annexation. Remember that LFI has requested the rezoning of the property from agricultural to B2 for marketing purposes. However, B2 covers a wide range of businesses and is what a 24 hour super center falls under. NAT would kindly like to request the Trustees consider placing conditions on the annexation.

Please plan on attending this important meeting. Show your support.

Thank you to the Village for extending the meeting date on this public hearing.

Meeting Update

Last night the Plan Commission listened to the request from LFI to have the northeast property of Oak and Orchard rezoned to make it more marketable. The Plan Commission voted 6-1 to rezone the property. They also listened to our concerns and the annexation agreement is what is crucial at this point. The conditions that we requested can be added to this agreement, allowing the residents to breath a sigh of relief that another 24 hour supercenter will not be allowed on the property.

Now it's up to the Village Trustees to decide at the Village Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m.

North Aurora Together has met with Mr. Mike Mills of LFI to open the lines of communication and we would like to work together with LFI and the village to create a development that is harmonious and one that compliments the village. After all , it is the gateway to the community.

Overall, the meeting went well. Here are two articles from today's papers:

Kane County Chronicle
